She is a Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist through the Animal Behavior Society – one of less than 50 individuals in the entire country with this particular certification. On top of that, Kristyn is recognized as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
Among countless roles, Dr. Echterling-Savage plays a primary one assisting Beyond the Dog’s trainers located throughout Kansas City, MO, Houston, TX and their surrounding areas. Together with Sean, she has created all of the puppy training, dog training, kitten training, cat training, and any pet training program offered by Beyond the Dog. She cultivates the importance of research and its significance in building and improving relationships with dogs, cats, and their owners. The focal point for Dr. Echterling-Savage as a behavior expert is to pass on her knowledge of empirically validated treatments to Beyond the Dog’s trainers, so clients can rest assured that Beyond the Dog utilizes only the most effective behavior solutions.
Dr. Echterling-Savage is also actively involved in research. Her research encompasses two main objectives for the company and everyone involved. Dr. Echterling-Savage’s primary focus is to continuously improve the methods trainers utilize to diagnose and treat their four-legged clients in order to make every minute of training the most efficient. To expand upon this, Kristyn authenticates her current treatment procedures already used during kitten, cat, puppy, and dog training and develops the best way to transfer these methods so that the owners may execute them in an extremely effective manner – even long after training has ended. Dr. Echterling-Savage has been engaged all over the country and has shared her research with many professionals at conferences and seminars throughout the United States.
Dr. Kristyn Echterling-Savage currently resides in the greater Houston area where she spends her time assisting trainers and guiding owners to establish and maintain a healthy, deep-rooted relationship with their pet(s). Dr. Echterling-Savage is so enthralled with science that not only is it the nature of her research, but it also becomes positively intertwined with her daily personal life. She shares her home with a German Shorthaired Pointer and a small, mixed breed, two cats, as well as a sulcata tortoise. Dr. Echterling-Savage also spends her time passing on her knowledge of behavioral techniques to her two young animal-lovers.
