Abby Dercher, B.S.
Abby joins the team at Beyond the Dog and after graduating from Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. During her time in school, she worked at PetSmart as their sole dog trainer in Manhattan. Abby was able to take her passion to work everyday helping families with their new puppies and adopted dogs. Abby was also a part of the Animal Welfare Team while atK-State, where she got to develop her skills in understanding animal behavior and the animal science industry.
Abby enjoys helping keep animals in their homes and out of shelters. In her free time, she also enjoys volunteering at KC Pet Project. She loves encouraging people to find other solutions to undesirable animal behavior, helping pets develop into wonderful and loving animals. She also enjoys volunteering at Hope Ranch Therapeutic Riding Center and the Alzheimer’s Association. When she is not caring for your pets, Abby spends time with her family and friends and her Husky/mix, who loves learning new tricks and going on long walks.
