Shyenne McCowan, B.S.
Shyenne’s passions have always been working alongside animals. Originally planning on veterinary medicine, her heart pulled her to change paths and begin studying animal behavior. At Texas Tech University, she spent 4 semesters helping launch the behavior and dog training practicum courses. She practiced training shelter dogs with various behavioral histories with the most humane and ethical methods. In 2019, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Companion Animal Sciences.
Throughout her collegiate career, Shyenne worked in management of dog boarding facilities. This heavily exposed her to learning canine body language and play behavior and provided her with the skills to ensure pets were happy and healthy while away from owners. In her final year of living in Lubbock, she worked as a dog trainer offering group or private classes in a stimulating, public environment. Returning to the Houston area and joining the Beyond the dog team, Shyenne’s ultimate goal is to provide pet parents education to ensure they have a true understanding of animal behavior and trusting companionship with their pet.
Shyenne shares her home with a flame point Siamese, Sam, and a ball python, Visenya. She aspires to someday rescue a Doberman Pinscher, her favorite working breed. In her free time, she likes to play relaxing video games and create art on digital platforms!
